Azerbaijan and Iran discuss bilateral cooperation agenda
Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the phone conversation, they discussed the existing bilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Iran, as well as regional issues.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov first congratulated Seyed Abbas Araghchi on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and wished him success in his new role. FM Bayramov also invited Seyed Abbas Araghchi to visit Azerbaijan.
The parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in the implementation of joint projects in several areas, including economics, trade, transportation, and communications. In this regard, the ministers emphasized the importance of the work of the State Commission on economic, trade, and humanitarian cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi expressed his gratitude to FM Bayramov for his congratulations and best wishes. He also expressed his satisfaction with the resumption of operations of Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran.
The FMs also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest and stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to further develop cooperation between the two countries.
